I found out earlier today that a German tech site called Chip.de is doing a promotion to get free licences of Ashampoo Snap v3.50 (Build July 1, 2010) which when used, will allow you to use the software for free forever, although you won't ever be able to update it.
Ashampoo Snap is a screen capturing tool that allows users to take screenshots (still images) and capture videos. Whatever you can see on your screen, Snap can take a picture or video of it and save it to a file easy as pie. You can even improve the results with some simple editing tools. The full list of features is quite comprehensive, so check out the product page to see the full picture.
Unfortunately, the method to take part in the promotion, while not complicated, is quite long, and you have to fill in a German registration form to do it. So I didn't feel like writing up a full article explaining it because it would take too long. However, a few other tech blogs have already picked up on the news, and one has been kind enough to detail the entire procedure for the benefit of everyone. So if you want a free copy of Ashampoo Snap 3.50, just take a look!
